Herbal Medicine is as old as medicine itself! Humans evolved with plants, so it is no wonder that certain plants perform medicinal actions within the body. Herbal medicine is both an ancient healing art and a scientifically researched healing modality. Although the individual plant chemicals have been scientifically proven to have specific actions on body systems, it is the thousands of plant chemicals working together that really lead to the magic of herbal medicine!
A quarter of all the pharmaceuticals currently prescribed in the modern medicine world were originally derived from plants!
During each consultation the patient assessed and matched the herbs that will best help them on their path to healing. Herbs strengthen the body`s ability to heal itself! Megan also works with herbs, nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle to bring the body back into a state of balance.

Herbal Medicine Consultations with Megan
The first consultation can take up to an hour and a half, and during this time we will take a detailed case history, exploring past medical history and how you came to be at your current state of health. We look so much deeper than just the symptoms and the disease, and take a deep look at all of the systems of the body.
Recommendations are made regarding dietary, supplementation and lifestyle, and you will be given your own custom-made tea, tincture, cream or capsules. Physical examinations including blood pressure or urinalysis may be performed, and you may be sent for further testing by your GP or an independent laboratory. You may be advised to see a doctor or another qualified practitioner.
Please bring with you a list of the medications, supplements and dosages you are currently taking, as well as a copy of your most recent blood test if you have it. Please keep your skin clean and free of makeup for the day of the consultation, and try to refrain from consuming anything that will stain your tongue. Herbalists are trained to use herbs in conjunction with doctors’ prescriptions, and they understand any possible interactions that can exist between herbs and pharmaceutical medications.
Through follow-up consultations, your healing process will be monitored and adjustments to your medications or herbal remedies may be made. Most herbs are safe, even for children, babies and animals!
The consultation should be a learning experience, hopefully leaving you feeling empowered about the healing process. Feel free to ask any questions during the consultation! A
How long will it take before I am fully healed?
Depending on the condition, it can take up to half the time you have had a disease to get back to a state of resilience within the body, especially if it has been chronic and longstanding. Herbs can also work fast providing immediate relief. After the initial consultation, the follow-ups will continue until the treatment is finished, which could range anywhere from a month to a year, but every individual is different.
Please arrive on time. New patients are required to fill out an intake form and consent waiver, so please allow yourself at least 15 minutes prior your scheduled appointment to do so.
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule in the event of a cancellation.
